Lauraine Woods joined the Harry Potter fandom in 1998 and has shared the journey with her daughter Rachel, who encouraged her to attend their first con in 2008 in Dallas. A proud Hufflepuff, she presented on House-elves at LeakyCon in Chicago. In her other life, she manages a national awards program for Canadian journalists and has two wonderful cats.
